Astar Electronics Introduces its new Ultra Slim DivX Certified 7" Portable DVD Player

Astar Electronics, a division of KXD Technology of Shenzhen, China, announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the introduction of its new Ultra Slim, DivX(R) Certified 7" Portable DVD Player (Model # PD 8800).

Highlights of the new Astar PD 8800 include its DivX(R) certification, its ultra slim, top loading portable DVD player with built-in speakers and its 7" LCD screen. Additional features include 1440 x 234 resolution, a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, an access time of 12 ms and the ability to connect to a TV via the composite output. The PD 8800 also comes with AC & DC power adapters, AV cables, ear buds, a full function remote control, a rechargeable battery and a travel bag.
DivX(R) has become the new standard for digital video -- dubbed the "MP3 of video" for its remarkable compression and widespread popularity. DivX(R) video enables anyone, anywhere to create and enjoy DVD-quality digital video.
Astar Electronics will begin shipping its new Ultra Slim, DivX(R) Certified 7" Portable DVD Player in Q1 2006 with an MSRP of $149.99.
